America Inc. (KAI) is a subsidiary of Kobe Steel, Ltd., a
Japan-based conglomerate with over 95 years of experience, and
sales in excess of $12 billion. Famed for its state-of-the-art
processes, and backed by a wealth of experience in steel casting
& forging, machine tools, plant engineering &
electronics, and innovative research & development, Kobe
Steel is justly proud of KAI's ongoing production of the finest
construction equipment in the world.

1982, KAI recognized that the interests of our American customers
could best be served by an American enterprise, and established
Sales & Product Support offices in Houston, Texas.
Expansions to date have increased the original office and
warehouse space from 11,000 square feet to over 120,000 square
feet, and KAI has become a full-service marketing company with a
highly motivated staff.
Today's KAI was created as a result of a 1995 merger which
unified the Manufacturing & Engineering functions of Kobelco
Construction Machinery with the Sales & Product Support
functions of Kobelco America. Over 400 KAI employees are currently
dedicated to providing Total Customer Satisfaction for each and
every Kobelco machine on the job site!

KAI recognizes our responsibilities extend beyond
just building the best construction equipment in the industry. Our
parts warehouse and service offices are centrally located in
Houston, TX and boast a parts inventory of $32 million. Our
service objective is simple: Do whatever it takes to maximize
uptime!
Our service personnel are key to maintaining our competitive
edge, and we offer regular factory training at our Calhoun,
Georgia facility. Additionally, service classes are also offered
to our customers, ensuring them the latest and most comprehensive
factory training.
Our dealer network includes over 300 locations in North, Central
and South America; supported by our highly-sophisticated inventory
& distribution center in Houston, TX. Every dealer is backed
by factory-trained engineers, plus an accompaniment of support
staff. This dedication to our customers' operational efficiency is
what ultimately maximizes profitability for the manufacturer and
end user alike.
