W.S.
Tyler has been manufacturing Test Sieves since the early
1900s. The W.S. Tyler Company was instrumental in developing
the standards which govern the industry today.
Test Sieves are made to the current ASTM E-11, and ISO 3310-1
specifications. The sieve cloth used in production is
exclusively woven by Haver & Boecker and W.S. Tyler,
assuring consistent, high quality products. Both Haver &
Boecker and W.S. Tyler are ISO 9000 Series Registered for
their Quality Management Systems.

Test Sieve products are produced in a variety of diameter
sizes (as detailed below), in both brass and stainless steel.
W.S. Tyler serializes and supplies a Certificate of Compliance
with each test sieve. Stock items include 8", 12", 3",
200mm diameters and Air Jet system sieves. A variety of Wet
Wash sieve designs and a complete assortment of Top Covers
and Receiver Pans are also available. Special application
products include Turbidimeter Sieves and Carbon Hardness Pans.
See the Laboratory Services Section for additional
information.

GOLD
SERIES
Gold
Series Test Sieves are fabricated using a fine mesh screen
cloth produced to extraordinary "tight" tolerances.
The product assures the user, the permissible variation of the
average openings of the instrument will be one-half (50%) of
the allowable ASTM or ISO specifications. The Gold Series
products are available in stainless steel frames and cloth,
on a "Special" basis, and sell at premium prices.
(USA No. 20 through 500).
- Made
in stainless/stainless construction
- Designed
as "masters" for internal quality assurance
programs.
- 8"

- Each
test Sieve is optically examined, sterilized and supplied
with complete traceable documentation, including information
on actual opening sizes.

Laboratory
Services
W.
S. Tyler offers five value added services for fine dry
particle size distribution
analysis. Two on-site working laboratories provide service
and support to our
dealers as well as our product users.
CERTIFICATION
"Certified"
test sieves are standard production products, specifically
reexamined for assurance to referenced specifications. The
sieve is serialized and supplied with documentation, traceable
to NIST, detailing the openings and wire diameters of the
mesh. W. S. Tyler uses a View Basic 8 Image Analyzing Machine
to perform our "Certification" and "Rectification"
services. This state of the art equipment is capable of
measuring to tolerances of ± 2.5 microns.
In addition the View Bazic 8 allows W.S. Tyler to measure
considerably more openings and wire diameters than specified
by ASTM E-11. The added measurements and the pattern of
examination offer statistically more valid information.
RECERTIFICATION
Test
Sieves are precision laboratory Instruments. They are gauges
and require ongoing certification as such. With the popularity
and enhanced awareness of detailed quality control systems,
the demand for "Recertification" of "in-use"
test sieves is growing daily.
W.S. Tyler performs the identical examination and provides
the same documentation as with our "Certified"
program.

MATCHING
"Matched"
test sieves are recommended for applications requiring
critical, multiple location testing and results comparison.
The products are selected and "Matched" in Tyler's
laboratory by repeated performance testing. The resulting
products significantly reduce test analysis variations. The
sieve is serialized and supplied with documentation detailing
the performance results vs. a "Master" series of
test sieves to a tolerance within ± 2.5%. This service is
available in the range of USA No. 8 through USA No. 325.
CORPORATE
CALIBRATION PROGRAM
Our
Corporate Calibration program allows you to outsource your
test sieve calibration requirements to our in-house
laboratories. It has proven to be ideal for organizations that
have multiple production facilities where particle size
analysis uniformity is critical. Features include:
- An
exclusive Master Set of test sieves is customer owned and is
Certified and traceable to NIST. This Master Set is
optically examined and chosen to ensure the test sieve
openings will be in a selected range that is much "tighter"
than allowable ASTM tolerances.
- Master
Set of test sieves and test media will be maintained in a
controlled laboratory environment. The program includes an
annual recertification of the Master Set.
- All
future new test sieve requirements will be performance
matched/calibrated
to your exclusive Master Series to a result tolerance of ±
2.5%.
- All
related service fees as detailed above are offered at
discount rates.
GENERAL
PARTICLE ANALYSIS
Our
dry fine article Analysis Service is available on a flat rate
basis. Detailed results are supplied per customer
requirements.
