Magnum is the most revolutionary advancement in separator
screen technology in the last decade. Designed for
increased strength, the patented Magnum screen has shown
significantly improved screen life over traditional designs.

Field
testing has demonstrated effective screen life increases
from 1.5 to 5 times, with no catastrophic failures.
Advanced mesh fusion divides the screen into discrete
zones, preventing propagation of most tears. The
mesh fusion also enhances flow
rates by stiffening the
screen surface, which improves solids conveying.
Available in 18 to 60 inch round and all sizes of rectangular
and white water filter screens, the Magnum utilizes standard
Sweco screen frames and FDA approved materials.
As
part of Sweco's ATS (Advanced TechnologyScreen) development
program, Magnum can also be custom configured to obtain
the most effective performance for each application.
Balancing screen life, capacity and blinding (plugging)
resistance, Magnum screens can be tailored to meet the
objectives of the specific operation.
Magnum
- the future of screening technology - available from
Sweco today.

Provides continuous, precise screening of dry materials,
especially in the finer particle sizes. Uses screen sizes
from 200-400 mesh for efficient separation of particles
ranging from 850-70 microns. Handles the most difficult
materials, including electrostatic materials and particles
that tend to agglomerate easily.
Sweco®
Vibro-Energy® Grinding Mills
are the most versatile line of mills available
today for fast, low-cost particle size reduction to sub-micron
range. Vibro-Energy grinding action achieves higher output
per input horsepower; precise control of size and distribution.
Product contamination from media and lining wear is virtually
eliminated. Maintenance costs are low because of few moving
parts and replaceable linings made of abrasion-resistant
metal, ceramic or elastomers.
The
Sweco Vibro-Energy Mill's unique vibratory motion,
coupled with the use of cylindrical media, allows a dense
packing of the media bed assuring maximum media surface
contact and minimum void area when operated under a low
energy condition. Feed materials as large as 300 microns
can be reduced to sub-micron sizes.
In
the high energy configuration, feed materials as large
as twelve inch agglomerates have been successfully milled
and solid particles of a half inch are being reduced to
a d50 of 5 microns.
The
low energy condition is reserved for wet milling whereas
the higher energy mode can be used either wet or dry.
Now
it is possible to complete wet or dry milling tests in
the Sweco Vibro-Energy Mill with as little as 20 ml of
material. To test your material:
- Request
and submit our Laboratory Questionnaire.
- We
assign a test number and contact you for an appropriately
sized sample.
- You
send us the sample along with the appropriate MSDS sheet.
- Results
are typically returned within 10 days of receipt of
the PRE-APPROVED sample.
All samples are returned along with any projections.
Typically,
sample sizes will be 200 to 300 grams dry or 0.5 liters
of slurry, but they can be between 20 ml and 1 liter.
Results from these tests can be used to size production
equipment that will give you the desired results.
Up
to five test chambers or mill jars can be processed at
one time. Many customers submit Nalgene Jars pre-charged
with material and media, advising milling time required.
After testing, the jar can be returned with no evaluation
by SWECO. We are able to use 125, 250, 500 and 1000 ml
jars.
Pilot
plant trials are also available. These tests typically
require minimum sample size of 9.8 liters of liquid or
4.5 kg dry. Tests are normally completed within 30 days
of receipt of the samples.
