Quarry
It is a mine from where minerals or ore is blasted out of the side of a mountain or hill.

Quarrying (mining)
It is the extraction of rocks from an open pit site.

Quarter round
It is a molding which have a profile of one-quarter of a circle.

Quartz
It is a term for silicon dioxide which occurs in colorless and transparent or colored hexagonal crystals or in crystalline masses. It is one of the most common mineral.

Quartzite
It is a compact granular rock being composed of quartz crystals. It is generally firmly cemented making the mass homogeneous.

Quaternary
It is the uppermost part of the Cenozoic Era which extends from 1.81 million years ago to present day.

Queen closure
It is a cut which have a nominal two-inch horizontal face dimension.

Quicklime
It is a calcium oxide that is crushed limestone and has been calcined.

Quick mitre joint
It is an external corner which is formed by the two stone panels, at an angle where the meeting edges are mitered and the exposed portion is finished.

Quirt
It is a groove which separates a bed or other moulding from the adjoining numbers.

Quoins
It is a stone at the corner of a wall which is emphasised by size, projection, and rustication or by a different finish.
