The
feldspar mine is situated in Venezuela (South
America). This mine
sits in the State of Trujillo. In 1988
four samples were tested by spectrophotometer
atomic absorption and gravimetric method over
a dry weight material. The chemical composition
of the four samples was more
or less similar. This is the chemical composition
of one sample:
%
Humidity ( water )................ 0.16
Loss to red ( L.R. )................... 0.48
% Si O2.................................61.52
% K2 O....................................9.45
% Na2 O..................................4.75
% Al 2 O3...............................23.02
% Fe2 O3................................ 0.052
This
chemical composition is similar to the results
of a test made in 1988 by Ministry of Energy
and Mine, Caracas, Venezuela. On a survey
of the zone by a geologist, he observed metavolcanic
rocks belonging to the Sierra Nevada formation
with the following characteristics:
lithologicals
with high grade of metamorphism in open ceiling
on the state of Trujillo. Lithology of the mine
is composed by rocks of the Precambic age with
gneiss, schist, quartz, and amphibolitic characteristics.
The mine has little intrusions acid and alkaline.
Gneissis are of light color on surface, but
have colors from dark grey to light brown to
red. The biotitic and muscobitic micas ( isinglass
) are observed on little strips and also on
strips of rocks feldspar - quartz. The gneisses
are composed of feldspar - quartz feldspartic.
The schist are well plenty developed and defined
by feldspar strips.
Thesamples observed on field show leaflets with
feldspar inserted strips.
On the zone are mainly prevailing quartz - feldspar
- amphibolitic - and micacea because contains
quartz, feldspar, amphibolitic, and biotitic
and muscobitic micas. There are pegmatite
feldspar, quartz, micaceas, philitics. These
pegmatites sometimes look impregnated by white
clay. The feldspar has color from pink to gray
when altered.
Feldspar
is of high quality. The zone has good way to
a town on a highway. The owner has legal
rights over 500 hectares (about 1, 250 acres
).
