Location
:
Located on the Somuncura Massif.
Regional Geology dominated by Triassic-Jurassic felsic
volcanic rocks. Deposit area is characterized by several known
mineral occurrences (fluorite, kaolin and other clays). Little
manganese and Pb-Zn-Ag deposits discovered in the vicinity.
Altered and mineralized sector of Cerro Choique, is located
within Los Menucos Fm (lower Triassic acid ashes and
rhyolites). Size of altered/mineralized area is 1,600 m by 600
m.
Mineralization:
Silicification main alteration in the area.
Gold occurrence is related to presence of an extremely
silicic ash-flow laced with quartz veins, veinlets, stockworks
and hydrothermal breccias which increase in abundance, variety
of primary and secondary textures, and gold content into an
area approximately 600 m by 400 m.
At least 12 events of quartz injection were detected.
Work
:
PHASE 1: Surface systematic chip sampling over an area
of 1,600 mt. x 500 m., within a net of 50 m x 50 m
PHASE 2: 4.5 km bulldozer trenches over which
systematic chip sampling over the clean exposure. Constructed
8.7 km of access roads and drill platforms.
PHASE 3: RC drilling 6 holes totalling 1,100 m
Results:
PHASE
1: 166 chip samples collected, averaged 168 ppb Au, with
extreme values of 35 ppb Au and 902 ppb Au
PHASE 2: 136 chip samples collected, with results up to
2,000 ppb Au
PHASE 3: Most interesting results as follows
Hole # 2: 649 ppb Au over 1 m and 390 ppb Au over 1 m
Hole # 3: 562 ppb Au over 15 m and 532 over 17 m
Hole # 6: 870 ppb Au over 1 m; 590 ppb Au over 1 m and 450
ppb Au over 1 m
Hole # 7: 590 ppb Au over 1 m and 278 ppb Au over 4 m
Hole # 8: 610 ppb Au over 1 m and 340 ppb Au over 3 m

travel time approx. 4 hours
Good access all year.
Other
Comments:
Easy
access and possibility to extend the exploration area. We also
have, other interesting properties both on the NW Argentina as
on Patagonia region. |
